The famous valley of Hushe, is situated in the central point of Karakuram mountain range, where thousands of national and foreign tourist, trekker and expedition parties come for enjoyment from beauty of nature. The region situated on the gateway of renowned mountains/ peaks i.e. K-2, Broad Peak, G-1, G-II, G-12 and other highest ranges and trekking passes are existed. The flow of tourist in the area is besides creating jobs opportunities, also causing harmful/ destruction/ degradation of environment and nature. Alongwith the tourist a lot of porters and their attachment come which also built pressure on nature which causes misuse of forest as fuel wood.  However the Ministry of Tourism makes obligatory to take some measure and enforced restrictions their visits. But usually they do not fulfill their obligation and they left their garbage and waste on their camping place, they are causing several terrible impacts on environment. It is the responsibility of all stakeholders to keep environment clean and save it for next generation.

Being the objective of the organization to protect the natural environment from pollution, HWDO being local Organization making all efforts in this regards mobilize local community for participate in removing of solid waste campaign in trekking routs. For this way the NGO with the help of supporting organizations encourage local community for plantation on barren land. This will certainly make positive impact on environment and nature. Ultimately the energy requirement of local people will be met. The NGO has also installed Latrine and Rubbish Hole to properly dispose the waste. It will necessary to educate porters to safely dispose their waste.
